QI currently has fluid dispenser installations serving industrial users as well as residential consumers. Consistently reliable service has been provided for both water regulation and waste fluid control, even with winter temperatures ranging as low as -40f. Some of these systems include TCP-IP communications to allow control and data-collection from a remote computer.

All QI fluid control systems are vertically integrated, using stored-value, "smart" card technology. QI supplies the smart cards for the system using a proprietary card scheme, and also designs, manufactures, and supplies the payment and control terminals and accompanying card sales and reload machines.

QI's Fluid Control systems have many uses, including bulk water distribution, waste management, and oil "stripper" well management.

Based on QI SmartVend technology, the QI Smart Fluid Management System consists of a payment terminal and valve control system for bulk liquid dispensing stations. Designed for self serve operation at unattended locations, the system combines ease of use with secure, reliable operation. As the controller accepts QI's QICard stored value microchip cards for payment, no actual money is stored in the payment terminal.

As a core part of the Smart Fluid Management System, the QI Water Control unit regulates the flow of liquid to the customer. This operates in tandem with the QI Card Value Kiosk, where customers can purchase cards and reload value onto their cards. A card dispensing kiosk will operate unattended on a 24-7 basis and provides a simple solution for municipalities to sell bulk water to a wide variety of customers.

An integral part of the QI Smart Fluid Management System, the Water Control Center features a card acceptor, a user keypad and a backlit Liquid Crystal Display. Water pump management is quick and reliable. The Water Control Center will validate the credit-card-sized QICard and authorize the transaction in just a few seconds. It will then monitor the flow of fluid through the system, and cut off supply when the pre-paid amount has been dispensed.

The QI SmartVend system eases the challenge of dispensing and collecting payment for bulk fluids.
